In the field of energy technology, cold rolling is used in particular in photovoltaics for solar cells.
The so-called PV ribbons or interconnect ribbons – these are usually tinned copper strips – are applied to silicon wafers (usually by soldering). These ribbons then absorb the (photoelectrically) generated energy and transmit it.

Another application in this industry is the so-called busbars. These then provide the connection between the ribbons and the inverters.

For REDEX Group, the production of small and large copper strips has been a core business for many years, which is also visible in the countless installations in all core markets worldwide. Market leaders in the USA, Asia and Europe rely on the plants to manufacture their products to a high standard.

These systems in particular have to meet the high requirements in terms of shape and dimensional accuracy at the highest speeds (up to 1200m/min).
