BRMLS - Measurement system

Based on the long-standing success of the FRM series of REDEX Group, it was only a logical conclusion to have all the necessary accessories for the production of high-precision strips in their own product portfolio.

After many decades of being able to additionally offer all the coiler technology, straighteners, shears, annealing and cooling units related to cold rolling, the gap in measuring technology was closed in 2019.

BRLMS was developed to measure the corresponding strip thicknesses inline and to use the measured values to control the system.

The laser thickness gauge measures the upper and lower distance to the rolled material. From the measured distances and the distance between the two sensors, the system calculates the thickness of the strip. The values are processed directly in the thickness control and the roll gap is corrected.
